"yeah, right. it isn't that easy." i protested.

"yes it is, " michael said. "life is all about choices. when you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. you choose how you react to situations. you choose how people will affect your mood. you choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. the bottom line is: it's your choice how you live life. " i reflected on what michael said.

soon thereafter, i left the big enterprise that i had worked in for years to start my own business. we lost touch, but i often though about him when i made a choice about life instead of reacting to it. several years later, i heard michael was involved in a serious accident, falling off 60 feet from a communications tower.

after l8 hours of surgery, and weeks of intensive care, michael was released from the hospital with rods placed in his back. i saw michael about six months after the accident. when i asked him how he was, he replied, "if i were any better, i’d be twins. wanna see my scars?" i declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the accident took place.

"the first thing that went through my mind was the well being of my soon-to-born daughter," michael replied. "then, as i lay on the ground, remembered i had two choices: i could choose to live or i could choose to die. i chose to live." "weren’t you scared? did you lose consciousness?" i asked. michael continued, "... the paramedics were great. they kept telling me i was going to be fine. but when they wheeled me into the operation room and i saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, i got really scared. in their eyes, l read 'he's a dead man.'i knew i needed to take action." "what did you do?" i asked. "well, there was a big burly nurse shouting questions at me" said michael. "she asked me if i was allergic to anything. ‘yes,’ i said. the doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. i took a deep breath and yelled", ‘gravity’" over their laughter, i told them, 'i'm choosing to live. operate on me as if i am alive, not dead'."

michael lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. i learned from him that every day we have a choice to live fully. attitude is everything.

whether a student should in persue of the fame of a university or to choose the hot major which hasa promisingfuture while he is applying for a university has long been a controversial problem.

some people hold that they should take the fame astheir first consideration, they believe thata university with a good reputation will give them a better environment to study .

as a result, they believe that will put them to a prior situation when they want to get a ideal job after many year‘s hard working.

other people,on the contrary, advocate that student should not take the fame as the crucial factor.

in their eyes.

a major with a promising future is the main goal, they argue that, only with a promisingmajor can one have a good job after his graduation.

and a university with a famous reputation will not alway do the job.

a case in point is that, there are number of student who are graduate from the famous university xxx get into a awkward situation when he or she face the job competition.

with the two opposite opinions discussed above,it is clear that neither of them isn‘t reasonable.

if the decision is up to me,i willchose the later point of view as my major principle,it goes without saying that i willbenefit a lot from it.

when students graduate from college, most of them choose to start their career. in general opinion, a college student should work on something that is related to their major, if not, what they learn is believed to be wasted. in my opinion, everyone has their right to choose what they want to do, regardless of other’s criticism.

recently, it has been reported that a student who graduated from first class university worked as a deliver guy. a lot of people felt pity for him, because they believed that this guy deserved a noble job, such as sitting in the office. while some people objected, they thought that every job was equal. there was no rule for people to decide what kind of job they should work on.

i believe that we should respect young people’s choice. the job they work on doesn’t mean they must use their major knowledge. the meaning of receiving education is to teach us to be a better person. even though we choose to be a farmer, we are the different farmers, because we have better skill and more polite.

a recent survey shows that some people prefer the higher-paying job even though it requests a longer hours than those low-paying job, especially among the young. they consider that they should spare no effort to earn money and improve their life standard when they are still young.

however, others hold spanerse view that they would rather choose lower-paying jobs and earn less money than do longer hours jobs. what they consider is that they should accompany their family and friends as much as possible even though they are busy. moreover, they think they need to enjoy their lives while they are making their living, in that life is limited and money is not everything.

if i had a chance to choose my job, i would be inclined to choose the latter one. in my opinion, many things are more important than money even though money can solve many problems, such as our family, affection and friendship. in addition, we also need to take our personal preference and conditions into consideration when choosing jobs. only in this way can we real enjoy our jobs.

it is said that in the future, the population of male will be more than female about 30 million, so girls seem to be chased by many males。 while the fact is that more and more girls choose to be single, even they are more than 30。 these girls are trend to be the new generation。

many parents are worried about their daughters’ marriage。 they want their girls find their life partner, so that they can feel easy, because someone takes the job of taking care of their sweet heart。 while nowadays, the girls are independent, they chase for equality in the new family, while most chinese parents are still very traditional。 they think once the girl marries their son, it is her duty to do all the house chores。 in this way, the girl can’t find the balance between family and work。 the smart one will choose the latter。

the girls’ choice shows that they pay more attention to their rights and realize what they want。 in the marriage, male and female share the equal responsibility。 when men learn to be considerate, then the girls will choose the marriage。

choosing a major is very important because it concerns our college life, our career and even our future life. therefore, we need to choose our major with discretion.

there are several factors we need to consider when choosing major. first, we need to take our interest into consideration. since our major is relative to our future career, we had better choose a major we love. second, our plan of career is another factor we need to consider. before choosing a major, we had better think about what kind of career would like to do in the future. in addition, we should have knowledge of prospects of development about employment market so that we would not encounter too many difficulties in hunting job. finally, we should take our family finance into account at the same time because some majors need more spending and time.

to sum up, we need to take various factors into consideration when choosing major. and we get some suggestion from our parents, our senior sister or brother and our teachers. besides, we need to understand the real nature of each major instead of being confused by its surface.

when the children get six years old, they need to go to school and finish the compulsive education. it has been admitted that reading more books brings people more knowledge and broadens their vision. but some people believe that reading books selectively is the right way. both ways have their advantages.

reading books selectively helps people get the details of the books. reading a book needs a lot of time, let alone to study the book, if people choose the book to read, they can have more time to study the details, so they can enjoy the books and know more about the authors’ purpose of writing these books.

reading books extensively can make people know more about the books. people can have the main idea of the books, knowing what the authors have written. the more people read, the more knowledge they can gain. in chinese old saying, if you read all the books, you will not be afraid of travel around the world.

for me, i think people at first should read as more books as possible, when they start to choose the major, then they should read selectively, so they can have more time to study a book.

nowadays, there is a common tendency that most of senior school students choose to attend to a college or a university. of course so do i. from my perspective, the main reasons why i go to college lie in the followings.

first of all, attending to a college and accepting advanced education is my dream. my thirsty for more knowledge and interests in learning have never changed. at the same time, my attending to a college is an honor of my family. no one ever has chance to make it, so it is absolutely a mission for me to achieve.

secondly, with the development of higher education, more and more opportunities have been provided to a student. therefore, it won’t be very difficult for us to go to the high rate of enrollment, it is a good time to go to college to improve myself.

the last but not the least, it’s a necessary step to a career development to attend to a college. the knowledge we owned from high school doesn’t meet the need of modern society. during the college life, not only can we learn professional knowledge, but we also can develop some abilities such as communication and management. asa result, we will get a great job in the future.

the first job is of great importance for a person, because it frequently decides one’s future career. most parents want their children to work for the government, while the young people trend to start business on their own. both options have advantages and disadvantages.

working for the government seems to be permanent and stable. so many graduates choose to take part in the national exam, for the purpose of being a public servant. but it is the stability that makes the young people feel bored and like wasting their time on the repeating work.

as the government advocates the young generation to self-employed, many graduates join the team. they want to develop their talent and follow their hearts. and it takes a long time for them to get great return. when they see their fellows buy house and cars, they will be easy to feel frustrated. starting business is not always a simple thing.

in my opinion, the career we choose must be passionate. we need to do it for more than 30 years, so the interest comes first, or we will be like a walking dead.
